What is a Wiki?
A wiki is...
"software that allows registered users or anyone to collaboratively create, edit, link, and organize the content of a website, usually for reference material. Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites. "
(From Wikipedia, one of the worlds largest wikis. Accessed 11 April 2008.)
Wikis provide a simple but effective space for content creation and collaboration and can be used in a wide variety of educational settings. Watch this great video on Wikis in plain English video by commoncraft for more information.
Wikis and Blogs and UNSW
TELT has been piloting wikis and blogs as online platforms for teaching and learning. These pilots have now ended. Further information please contact Patrick Stoddart or Karsten Sommer at L&T@UNSW.
Policies and Further Information
The University has established a number of policies and corporate documents which detail best practice for the use of web-based resources for teaching and learning. Please ensure that you have read and comply with these standards.
